A Los Angeles native who has witnessed several residential and commercial developmental changes over the decades from Downtown LA to the beaches. Seeing neighborhoods develop, and communities shift has always been something Michelle observed. Being born in Atwater Village, raised in the San Fernando Valley's city of Northridge, attending college in Santa Monica and Westwood, then spending her post college years in Beachwood Canyon nestled in the Hollywood Hills has given her a good taste of LA living. After Graduating from UCLA in 2000 and receiving her BA in Sociology minoring in Communication, she spent four years in the field of Education where she taught elementary school. She later conducted program evaluations on a contract basis and wrote grants as an independent contractor for the Los Angeles Unified School District until 2008 while transitioning into a new career building a marketing department for a mortgage company.
After spending some time in the public sector, in 2004 an opportunity arose to work in the private sector and moved to the South Bay where she started her real estate career at Excel Funding as a Marketing Director. Her original intensions were to transfer from educating children to educating professionals. After implementing several systems for agents and successfully demonstrating the ability to bring people together and network, Michelle was encouraged to apply for her real estate license while assisting the owner and broker of a large south bay mortgage company. After implementing templates and procedure for the marketing department and successfully closing several loans she was recruited by a real estate agent to learn the home selling aspect of the business and began assisting agents at Remax OTB in Encino, Coldwell Banker in Beverly Hills, and even worked for Rent.com an eBay company continuing to build her experience. In pursuit of building her own business to move away from more administrative roles she eventually become a Realtor at Keller Williams Realty in the Hollywood Hills.
Michelle has been able to incorporate her research ability and critical analysis skills to Real Estate. She is capable of withdrawing conclusions from qualitative and quantitative data to narrow down home searches, understand demographics, and the social fabrics of any particular neighborhood. As an agent with a background in Education, and research she naturally teaches her clients about the real estate process in a comprehensive and simplified way which enpowers them.
Currently residing in Venice and working out of the Santa Monica office as of the spring of 2015, she is involved in many eco-friendly and cultural preservation projects on the Westside. Combining her admiration for architecture/design/art, her passion for the true history of Los Angeles, and her dedication to preserving a sense of community makes Michelle a well rounded realtor. LA has so much to offer, see it through the eyes of someone who gets it! She spends her free time as a freelance writer and social media enthusiast crafting community stories and following the "heartbeatofla" on various topics.
